Design has a price. Look e.g. at the Apple computer; great design, but they more expensive than a regular pc. It's the same story for eBook readers. The Kindle of Amazon was one on the first eBook readers with a keyboard. At the introduction, it looked great. Beautiful design.
As touch screens are standard now, the design moves up to larger screens. COOL-er introduced more colorfull hardware, as the standard color of an eBook reader was grey. More and more manufactures provide color / design eBook readers. Apple has the great looking device at the moment with their Apple, but who will follow to be more trendy? Sony? HP? Microsoft?
